El retorno: Norah Jones estrena 'Running' como anticipo de su álbum que está a punto de llegar

'Visions', según hemos podido saber, es un conjunto vibrante y alegre de 12 canciones en el que Jones canta sobre sentirse libre, querer bailar, hacer las cosas bien y aceptar lo que trae la vida. Según fuentes del proyecto, es "El yang del yin que fue 'Pick Me Up Off The Floor', el último álbum de Jones de nuevas canciones originales que se lanzó a principios del bloqueo pandémico de 2020 y presagió muchas de las emociones oscuras de ese período".

'Running', nueva canción

Ese disco, 'Visions', llegará como una colaboración con el productor y multiinstrumentista Leon Michels que se presenta ahora con el vídeo oficial del sencillo principal del álbum titulado 'Running'. La canción fue coescrita por Jones y Michels y presenta a Norah a la voz, piano, guitarra y bajo con Leon a la batería y saxofón barítono.

Del álbum Norah Jones avanza que "La razón por la que llamé al álbum Visions es porque muchas de las ideas surgieron en medio de la noche o en ese momento justo antes de dormir, y 'Running' fue una de esas ideas en las que estás medio dormido y te despiertas de un sobresalto. Hicimos la mayoría de las canciones de la misma manera: yo estaba al piano o a la guitarra y Leon tocaba la batería y nosotros simplemente tocábamos cosas. Me gusta la crudeza entre Leon y yo, la forma en que suena algo garagero pero también algo conmovedor, porque de ahí viene él, pero tampoco demasiado perfeccionado".

Michels tocó el saxofón en Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings y ha actuado con Lee Fields & The Expressions, la banda de Dan Auerbach The Arcs, Menahan Street Band y su propio proyecto El Michels Affair. Michels y Jones colaboraron por primera vez en el sencillo 'Can You Believe' y luego trabajaron juntos en el álbum navideño de 2021 de Jones, 'I Dream of Christmas'. 'Visions' también cuenta con contribuciones del trompetista Dave Guy , el bajista Jesse Murphy y los bateristas Brian Blade y Homer Steinweiss .
